Welcome to the Blind Phones announcements E-mail List.

This e-mail list is operated to ensure that blind users of cellular mobile phone handsets are kept up to date with the latest developments in the hardware and software that they use on a day to day basis.

The topics at present to be reported on include;

New handset releases, including their specifications and compatibility with the various standard software installed by us as users.

Software developments and releases, including updates and release note information, together with compatibility issues and where to download / purchase the software from. Primarily therefore Nuance's Talks and Zooms, Code Factory's Mobile Speak and Wayfinder Access.

The list also aims to announce other important developments within the blind community which directly relate to cellular mobile handsets such as the new KNFB Reader.

The list is not a discussion group, therefore traffic from the list is likely to be very little, and this we hope presents an ideal chance to find out what you needed to know, without the mass of traffic and usual range of subsequent follow up messages found on other discussion e-mail lists.
